Perched on the last ridge of the Black Mountains, Menez-Hom proudly overlooks the landscapes of Finistère. A true balcony over Brittany, it is considered one of the region's most beautiful viewpoints. Just 12 km from the coast, this iconic summit can be seen from the campsite and attracts hikers, nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
A Mountain Rich in Meaning and History
The name Menez-Hom has its roots in the Breton language: Menez means "mountain", and Hom means "place"—literally, "the mountain of the place". This site is not only a spectacular viewpoint: it also represents a land of legends, a mystical place where nature still seems to reign supreme. All around, the heath conceals burial mounds and the remains of German bunkers, now overgrown with shrubs and home to discreet local wildlife.
A Magnificent 360° Panorama
From the summit, the view is simply breathtaking. On a clear day, it is possible to spot around fifty church steeples scattered across the Breton countryside. The 360-degree panorama opens onto:
