When Is the Best Time to Go Camping in Brittany?

Contrary to popular belief, it does not rain all the time in Brittany—quite the opposite. Summers are warm, but less oppressive thanks to the sea air that cools much of the coastline, while winters are mild, although they can feel colder because of the wind. Brittany's heaviest rainfall usually occurs in spring, when milder temperatures return. For this reason, we do not recommend camping from November to May (during winter and spring). Autumn and summer are the two best seasons for camping.

In autumn, temperatures become cooler and are perfect for enjoying the many thalassotherapy activities found mainly along the Breton coast. Although there are fewer water sports available, there are also fewer tourists. You can therefore enjoy your stay in complete peace, focusing on relaxation and discovery.

In summer, temperatures are warm without the extreme heat of a heatwave. The ocean breeze keeps the air pleasantly cool, allowing you to enjoy all kinds of activities (surfing, sailing, paddleboarding, hiking, visiting monuments, aquariums and towns) in complete comfort.
